Lubbock Power & Light will be responsible for the transportation and delivery of electricity to your home or business, as well as the maintenance of electrical equipment, including the meter, electricity wires and poles. You can contact them to report an outage, a fallen pole or wire, or a problem with your meter.
Your REP is the company that you purchase electricity from by choosing an electricity plan. REPs provide electricity billing and customer service, as well as process payments. You can contact your REP to set up or connect your electricity service, transfer your electricity service or get answers to billing questions.
Once Lubbock is deregulated, homeowners, renters and businesses in Lubbock will be able to shop and choose the REP and electricity plan of their choice rather than having to use a designated company.

With a fixed-rate electricity plan, the energy charge you pay for electricity remains the same each month during the term of the plan. The price can only change to reflect actual changes in utility charges, changes to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas or Texas Regional Entity administrative fees charged to loads, or changes resulting from federal, state or local laws or regulatory actions that impose new or modified fees or costs. These types of plans involve contracts that typically last anywhere from three to 36 months. They’re great for both homeowners and renters since you may be able to transfer your plan to your new home if you move within Reliant’s service area.
Variable-rate plans are often month-to-month contracts with no cancellation fees. Each month, the energy charge used to calculate your bill can fluctuate. This type of plan benefits customers who need the flexibility of a month-to-month term with no early cancellation fee.
Time-of-use plans are fixed-rate or variable-rate plans that offer a lower cost of electricity based on the time and/or day the electricity is being used. No electricity charge on the weekends or no charge during certain hours of the day are some of the most common types of time-of-use plans offered. If you aren't usually home during the day or do most of your high electricity consumption tasks during the weekend, you may benefit from a time-of-use plan.
Renewable energy plans are electricity plans that allow you to support renewable energy, including by matching your electricity usage with renewable energy certificates. They’re a great way to support the environment.
Depending on the plan, Reliant may offer the opportunity to receive sports memorabilia, gift cards, bill credits, airline mile credits, donations made on your behalf to charities and more. Check out available offers here.

With this product, you are eligible to receive 3 bill credits, each of which must be utilized in a separate billing period during your term. You can apply bill credits within your online account, the Reliant app, or by contacting Reliant’s customer care team. Only one credit can be applied to any outstanding bill amount. Customers on AutoPay must redeem a bill credit up to 24 hours before the bill due date. Any unredeemed bill credits will automatically be applied during the last available bills of a customer’s term. Unused bill credits will not transfer if you switch away from the Flextra Credits plan and are not redeemable for cash.
