In 1902, a line for the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway was built through the area and residents chose the name Frisco City, after the railway.
This name was eventually shortened to Frisco.
Today, Frisco, Texas is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country and a popular sports destination. Nicknamed “Sports City USA,” the town hosts youth leagues, college sports, professional franchises and even e-sports tournaments.
Frisco has multiple first-class sports facilities and state-of-the-art sports venues. Many major sports teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, have their headquarters in town.
However, there’s much more to Frisco than sports — including top-rated schools, 1,369 acres of parks, the rail district and a historic downtown area. Frisco also has one of the largest collections of outdoor public art in the state of Texas.
Frisco’s family-friendly events include skateboard competitions, cookoffs, music festivals, movies poolside, 5k runs and celebrations in honor of its Tree City USA designation.
