Texas electricity pricing includes charges from Reliant and delivery charges from your TDSP/utility (CenterPoint Energy). The combined charges below divided by your total monthly usage equals your average price per kWh.

Account number: You’ll need your account number when calling us, mailing in your check or money order, or setting up your online account at
reliant.com/myaccount. Your online account gives you 24/7 access to view and pay your bills online, set bill alerts, view usage history and more.
Referral ID: You can earn unlimited bill credits by sharing your referral ID with friends and family. Learn more at reliant.com/referral.

Power outages: If you’re without power, please call your local Transmission and Distribution Service Provider (TDSP) at the number listed on your electricity bill. They maintain the poles and wires that deliver your power and can assist you.

Previous balance: The amount due from your last bill.
Payment received: The most recent payment we’ve received.
Balance forward: The difference between the Previous Amount Due and Payment. This balance is due right away (not when your current bill is due). If you paid this amount after the invoice was generated, it will still appear on your invoice.
Billing period: The dates you were billed.
Base charge: A charge assessed during each billing cycle without regard to demand or energy consumption.
Energy charge: A charge based on the electric energy (kWh) consumed.
Delivery charges: The total amounts assessed by a TDSP for the delivery of electricity to a customer over poles and wires and other TDSP facilities not including discretionary charges. The Public Utility Commission of Texas sets these charges, and the applicable approved charges are charged to every customer, regardless of provider.
Gross receipts tax reimbursement: If you live in an incorporated town or city with more than 1,000 residents, you are assessed this fee to recover the gross receipts tax imposed on retail electric providers.
Total current non-electricity charges: This is related to other Reliant products or services you may have signed up for, such as Reliant Home Solutions℠ products and services or Reliant EcoShare℠.
Other line items: If you’re on Average Monthly Billing, you’ll also see the line items “Average Current Charges” and “Deferred Balance.” Not on Average Monthly Billing yet? Smooth out your monthly bills by signing up at reliant.com/amb.
Amount due: This includes your balance forward, current charges and total current non-electricity charges.

Your Electric Service Identifier (ESI ID) is the unique identifier created for your meter by your local TDSP. Think of it like an IP address for your meter. Your TDSP reads your meter each month and transmits your usage in kWh to us to generate your bill.
Wondering how much electricity you used in the last billing period? Your kWh Usage is calculated by subtracting the Previous Meter Read from the Current Meter Read and multiplying it by the kWh Multiplier. The average price you paid per kWh for the billing period contains the Base Charge, Energy Charge and Delivery Charges.
