Houston will be one of the centers of FIFA World Cup 2026™ excitement in Texas, welcoming fans from around the world for 5 weeks of matches at Houston Stadium. As an official host city, Houston will offer dedicated spaces where fans can gather, watch matches and experience the global atmosphere, even without game tickets.
From June 11 through July 19, downtown Houston will transform into a hub for FIFA World Cup 2026™ activity, anchored by the city’s official FIFA Fan Festival™ Houston and supported by surrounding events, local businesses and cultural activities throughout the area.
The FIFA Fan Festival™ Houston is the city’s centerpiece event and one of the easiest ways to experience the tournament without game tickets. It will be held in downtown Houston's east side, also known as EaDo, and entry is free and open to the public.
Without a doubt, the FIFA Fan Festival™ Houston is the best way to feel the energy of the tournament without having to spend money on tickets.
The experience goes far beyond watching matches on a screen. Picture a festival-style environment where fans gather hours before kickoff, stay long after the final whistle and spend the time in between enjoying food vendors, live entertainment, interactive experiences and cultural activities that reflect the global spirit of FIFA World Cup 2026™.
Here’s what you can expect:
Crowds naturally grow for high-profile games, weekends and evening screenings, but the overall vibe is designed to be welcoming and flexible. Many fans stop by for a single match, while others make a full day of it.

Because locations, schedules and seating policies can vary, it’s a good idea to check venue websites or social channels in advance and plan to arrive early for popular match times.

With hundreds of thousands of visitors expected during the tournament, fans should plan for busy streets and crowded downtown areas, especially near FIFA World Cup 2026™ events. Light rail is expected to be one of the easiest ways to navigate central Houston, with frequent service connecting downtown, EaDo and other key areas tied to FIFA World Cup 2026™ programming. The city is also introducing the Green Corridor, a fan-focused network that links major destinations using rail lines, walkable routes and bike-friendly paths.
Driving is still an option, but fans should expect heavy congestion near downtown and major venues, especially on match days. When possible, public transit, rideshare services or parking further away can help simplify the experience.
With matches, fan festivals and related events happening across the Dallas–Fort Worth area, transportation officials are encouraging fans to plan ahead. On match days, fans attending games at Dallas Stadium are expected to use a combination of commuter rail and dedicated charter buses from central transit hubs, helping reduce congestion around the stadium. Those visiting the FIFA Fan Festival™ Dallas at Fair Park can take advantage of nearby DART stations and designated rideshare areas.
The summer season in Texas means one thing: heat. In June and July, daytime temperatures in Houston and Dallas can easily climb into the 90s, with humidity making it feel even warmer. Wherever you choose to celebrate, staying cool and hydrated should be a top priority.
If you plan to spend time outside, consider bringing:
Bag policies can vary by venue and event, and restrictions may be tighter for official fan festivals or match-day areas. Before heading out, it’s a good idea to check regulations in advance.
