The Comfort IQ bundle is an integrated offer that combines:

  • A 36-month Reliant fixed-rate electricity plan
  • Smart home technology and free installation from Vivint
  • Your participation in the Reliant Degrees of Difference program
  • Your enrollment in the Vivint Smart Comfort feature 

In addition, as long as you maintain electricity service with Reliant, you’ll have free access to the Vivint app,4 which can provide remote access to your Vivint Smart Thermostat. If you stop receiving electricity service from Reliant, Vivint will automatically charge you $10/month for continued access to the app; however, you can cancel the app subscription by contacting Vivint directly.

By signing up for the Comfort IQ bundle, you can receive hundreds in annual savings through your participation in the Degrees of Difference program and the Vivint Smart Comfort feature.1 The bundle is designed to help you use smart technology to manage your home’s energy use more efficiently.

Yes, the Comfort IQ bundle is free as long as you maintain your Reliant electricity service, which will be billed separately. Professional installation is provided at no cost to you, and the equipment is yours to keep. Plus, as long as you remain a Reliant electricity customer, you will receive a $10/month discount for maintaining active Reliant electricity service.

If you cancel your Reliant service, Vivint will begin charging the applicable monthly service fee associated with your chosen bundle to the payment method on file for continued access to the app and its features. Subscription pricing is subject to change.

This offer is available if you’re a new or existing Reliant customer who owns a single-family home and has working Wi-Fi and a smart meter.

You can enjoy hundreds in estimated annual energy savings each year. This includes a $40 annual bill credit for participating in at least 50% of the Degrees of Difference event hours annually, and additional energy savings through your use of the Vivint Smart Comfort feature.1

I understand that if I rescind my electricity enrollment with Reliant or cancel my electricity service with Reliant prior to Comfort IQ installation, I will forfeit receipt and installation of the Comfort IQ equipment and Vivint reserves the right to remove equipment installed in my home.

As part of this bundle, you must agree to participate in the Reliant Degrees of Difference Smart Thermostat Program and the Vivint Smart Comfort feature.

You can manage your Vivint smart home devices through the Vivint app, which provides real-time control, alerts and energy insights at no extra cost while your Reliant plan is active.

No problem - we'll replace it with the Vivint Smart Thermostat at no cost. A Vivint thermostat is required to enable Smart Comfort.

You’ll enroll in the Degrees of Difference program as part of the Comfort IQ bundle. During times of high electricity grid demand, your thermostat may be adjusted to reduce usage. You’ll be required to agree to and sign the terms and conditions before products are installed. The technician will explain how the Degrees of Difference program works and how you can receive its full benefits.

During certain times, such as when high electricity demand is anticipated, your Vivint Smart Thermostat may automatically adjust by up to 4 degrees to help reduce energy use. This is called a demand response event. After an event is over, your thermostat returns to its usual settings. You’ll receive notifications before and during these events and can opt out of individual events by manually adjusting your thermostat.

During a demand response event, your Vivint Smart Thermostat may automatically adjust by up to 4 degrees to meet grid demands. The Vivint app will send you a notification before the demand response event and display it until the event has ended. You can opt out of an event by manually or remotely adjusting your thermostat.

The Vivint devices are move-friendly. You can take the devices with you when you move, but please contact Reliant first so we can assist with transferring your electricity plan and ensuring that your Vivint equipment works in your new home.

Terms, conditions and other restrictions

1 Savings estimate reflects the combined total of (i) a $40 bill credit for participating in the Reliant Degrees of Difference Smart Thermostat Program; and (ii) average annual HVAC-related energy savings associated with activation and use of Vivint’s Smart Comfort feature.

Estimated energy savings are based on an independent study of Vivint customers who enabled their Vivint Smart Comfort system. Savings estimates are based on modeled analyses of Smart Comfort system performance that account for weather conditions and HVAC usage patterns, and compare results to a constant 72°F baseline thermostat-use scenario. Energy savings are an estimate, not a guarantee. Actual individual savings depend upon many factors, including climate and seasonal changes, home size, occupancy and appliances. To receive the $40 Degrees of Difference bill credit, you must participate in at least 50% of the total Degrees of Difference (DoD) event hours, and no less than one DoD event, in any Program Year (first Program Year will be measured from date of enrollment). Your participation will be measured based on your performance during eligible event hours, rounded to the nearest minute. Program Years run from November 1 to October 31. Bill credit will be applied to your Reliant account within two billing cycles of the Program Year end date. Reliant account must be active at the time of the bill credit award to receive the credit; credits are non-transferrable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Reliant may offer future bill credit promotions for participation in subsequent Program Years; offer terms are subject to change.
