NRG Reliant Gives

Reliant Gives

Since 2016, the Reliant Gives program has donated $460,000 to twelve nonprofits and plans to help support their continued efforts and goals. In addition, the program has supported nearly 124,000 lives across the state of Texas. To learn more, please read the 2016 Reliant Gives Community Impact Report ›

"It is such a joy to see the continued enthusiastic community participation in this great year-long campaign to support Texas nonprofits," said Elizabeth Killinger, president, Reliant and NRG Retail. "From assisting women's shelters to replanting trees and saving animals, it's been both exciting and rewarding to engage with nonprofits and communities in Houston, Dallas and Corpus Christi, and just as important to give the public an opportunity to direct our charitable giving. We are excited to continue our successful momentum in 2017 and beyond."

The mission of Reliant Gives is to support causes that are important to people in Texas communities. Through this program, Reliant employees nominate charitable organizations and from these nominations three charities are chosen by the Reliant Charitable Giving committee for a worldwide vote. The public is encouraged to vote for the organization of their choice and the first place charity winner will receive $100,000; the second place charity winner will receive $10,000; and the third place charity winner will receive $5,000.

In addition to the Reliant Gives program, Reliant supports local communities through volunteerism, charitable giving and partnerships with a variety of organizations, and in 2015 donated over $2.75 million to different causes.
