Yes. There is a cutoff time for same-day service at 5 p.m. Central Time. Requests processed after the cutoff will be connected on the next business day.
Same-day service is available Monday through Saturday, weather permitting, where an existing meter is in place. There are no connections on holidays. Enrollment and permit requirements must be met before a request can be processed. Additional charges apply.
Your electricity service can be started as soon as the same day your enroll in a Reliant plan. Simply complete your request by 5 p.m. on an eligible business day and ensure your address has an accessible smart meter. Please note: you must satisfy all enrollment requirements upfront, such as providing an ID or deposit, as any delays may push back your start date.

Many term plans charge an early cancellation fee if the contract is terminated prior to the expiration date. An early cancellation fee may be avoided if you are moving and provide prior notice of the move, including a forwarding address and, if applicable, other evidence supporting the move. If you're starting service at a new location, you can sign up before 5 p.m. for same-day power and after 5 p.m. for next-day service. However, there are a few factors that could delay service. For example, if your meter is physically inaccessible or a permit is required, we cannot guarantee the transfer date you select. Please keep in mind that you may need to satisfy certain requirements, such as paying a deposit or providing valid ID, and delays in satisfying these requirements can delay your start date.
In most cases, you don’t need to be home at the time of connectivity. If you do, Reliant will let you know ahead of time.

1 Upon enrollment you can provide either a driver’s license or Social Security number. This information will be used to check if a deposit is needed and to verify your identity for account access. For best results, we recommend providing your Social Security number.

3 Referrals may only be submitted by active Reliant residential customers with a Texas service address. To qualify for bill credit, referrals must be new Reliant residential customers in Texas enrolled on a term plan with a minimum of ten days of active electricity service on that plan. Bill credit will be applied within two billing cycles after the referred customer has completed ten days of active electricity service. Any disputes relating to eligibility will be determined solely by Reliant. Reliant may modify or discontinue this program at any time without notice. Additional terms and conditions apply.
