Energy Assistance

We want to give all people in our communities access to the electricity they need to run their homes and live their lives comfortably. Our involvement in these key programs helps us maximize the support people in need can expect from us.

Beat the Heat Centers

The summer months can put a strain on anyone's electricity budget. Reliant supplies electricity to public locations throughout Corpus Christi, Dallas and Houston, where Texans looking for ways to stay cool and minimize home electricity usage can go all summer long.

Beat the Heat Centers are open during the summer months (usually June through September).

CARE Program

We all need electricity, but sometimes, making ends meet is difficult. The Community Assistance from Reliant Energy (CARE) program works with non-profit social service agencies to provide extra funds to customers who qualify for assistance with their electricity bill.

Customers who meet the agency criteria receive a one-time annual donation, funded by corporate contributions and customer donations, to help pay for electricity during difficult times. Those looking for assistance can call 211 within Texas or contact one of the service organizations below.
