President, NRG Retail and Reliant
Elizabeth has 25 years of domestic and international experience in the energy and services industries, including 15 years with NRG. She is now responsible for directing all aspects of NRG Retail, the leading multi-brand retail electricity business in Texas, the third-largest residential retailer in the Northeast, and the leading portable solar power and battery business in the U.S. Having played a key role in the company's transition to competitive electricity markets with customer service at its core, her vision of the "Era of Personal Power" has led NRG to introduce new innovative products that push the energy industry into the future and provide consumers insights, choices and convenient ways to power their lives at home and on the go.
Elizabeth spent the early days of her career in the oilfield services, software development and management consulting industries. She started her NRG career at Reliant in 2002 after working for two years as a consultant, helping prepare the company's wholesale and retail businesses for electricity deregulation in Texas. Since then, she has taken on increasing responsibilities year after year, including the launch of several successful start-ups within the company.
Deeply committed to making a difference for future generations, Elizabeth serves many impactful organizations. She is on the Energy Advisory Board and the Bauer College Board at the University of Houston and serves on the boards of directors for the March of Dimes, the Center for Hearing and Speech, the North Texas Commission, and the Greater Houston Partnership (GHP) in addition to being on the GHP Executive Committee. She also serves as School Board Vice Chairman for Epiphany Lutheran School and is an advisory board member for the Newspring Center for Social Entrepreneurship and Business Nurturing. Elizabeth served as Chair for the nation's largest 2014 March for Babies Campaign and Chair for the 2015 American Heart Association's Heart Walk.
Elizabeth attended Houston Baptist University and earned her bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Houston. She is also a homemaker, passionate about her role as wife and mother and enjoys spending time with her family.
Vice President and General Manager, NRG Retail and Reliant Residential
Andrea Russell has more than 25 years of experience in marketing, sales and customer segmentation. As Vice President and General Manager of NRG Retail and Reliant Residential, Andrea is responsible for Reliant brand awareness, marketing, sales, margin management and financial results. In her most recent role as General Manager of Cirro Energy, Andrea increased brand awareness, customer count and earnings to historically high levels.
Prior to joining NRG in 2011, Andrea held marketing and sales management positions for Direct Energy and AT&T. At Direct Energy, Andrea was responsible for brand awareness and customer acquisition across multiple channels. At AT&T, she planned and launched AT&T Local Service in 10 unique markets, received multiple President’s Awards and was nominated by her peers to participate in the AT&T Leadership Development Program for future executives.
Andrea earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Our Lady of the Lake University. She serves on the North Texas Commission Board of Directors. Andrea lives in Dallas and is active in the National Charity League with her two daughters.
General Manager, Services and Customer Experience
As head of innovation and customer experience at Reliant, Scott Burns leads the team responsible for creating the residential and small business product and service strategy and ensuring excellent customer experience. His team creates products that include customer-facing applications based on smart meter data analytics, home energy management devices and technology, demand response and energy efficiency programs, commodity plans, home maintenance services and other services that meet the evolving needs of today’s electricity consumer. Additionally, he is the GM for two of the adjacent growth businesses (Home Services and Home Security) as well as leading the market research and competitive intelligence functions.
Since joining Reliant in 2008, Scott has been focused on consumer-facing energy product strategy and has helped launch multiple products including energy emails, web portals, mobile applications, time-of-use pricing and home automation. He was a key contributor on the application that led to Reliant’s selection as a Department of Energy (DOE) Smart Grid Stimulus Grant recipient and the product lead on the company’s implementation of that program.
Scott also spent time at another retail electricity provider that exposed him to the competitive business both in the United States and overseas. He also spent eight years in a variety of marketing and product line management roles at Corning, including P&L responsibility for two of the company’s product lines. He led development of a number of key products used in the country’s first large-scale fiber-to-the-home deployments.
Scott is a former military officer and pilot, having graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He earned his MBA from Georgia College, a graduate marketing certificate from Southern Methodist University and completed Wharton’s Innovation for Growth program. Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.
Vice President of Customer Care Operations
As Vice President of Customer Care Operations, William is responsible for leading Reliant’s customer care and service operations for mass market customers. In this role, he oversees the company's call center and mid-office operations.
He also serves as the company's energy expert in matters related to energy efficiency. With nearly two decades of experience, he has in-depth knowledge of the utility and retail electric industries. William has managed a number of specialized consumer programs for Reliant and has held various roles within residential load management, field operations, retail marketing, program development and retail operations.
He graduated summa cum laude from Abilene Christian University with a BA in Political Science. William has received a number of academic and athletic awards, including being named three-time GTE Academic All-American in football.
Vice President, Retail Operations, NRG Energy, Inc.
Mark has more than 25 years of domestic and international experience across numerous industries including Power Generation, Oil and Gas, Telecommunications, and Energy. As Vice President of NRG’s Retail Operations in Texas, Mark’s responsible for all back office operations as well as the Project Management, Continuous Improvement and Digital Transformation teams. Mark’s team also runs the field and customer care operations for Reliant’s Home Services and Security businesses.
Prior to joining NRG in 2015, Mark held senior leadership positions within both public and private companies providing various services and manufacturing solutions to a broad base of customers throughout the world. He was privileged to live and work in England for 3 years while leading a manufacturing business that required him to do extensive international travel.
Mark earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Penn State University. He is passionate about his family and the environment and serves on the Board of Directors for Earthshare of Texas. When not working, Mark loves to fish, golf and travel with his wife and two daughters.
Director, Community Relations and Executive Director, NRG Retail Charitable Foundation
Leanne Schneider has over 25 years’ experience working in Houston. She currently serves as the Director of Reliant Community Relations and Executive Director of the NRG Retail Charitable Foundation. In this role, Leanne actively directs and integrates our Community & Partnership Marketing and Charitable Giving assets and leads our philanthropic programming to bring our employees, communities and customers together.
Leanne started her career at Reliant in 2002. Prior to her current role, she led the program management efforts for the Retail Sales team and held various leadership roles in Retail IT leading projects and programs across the organization.
Prior to Reliant, Leanne worked in technology software and consulting with roles in business development, partner management and solutions integration.
Leanne is passionate about volunteering in her daughters’ activities and in the community. She loves to run, read, snow ski and travel.
Leanne holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University.
