Stay on top of your account with automatic Reliant AccountAlerts. These enhanced periodic text messages sent directly to your phone are designed to help you manage your electricity budget.

You can receive text alerts that notify you:

  • Five days before your bill is due
  • When your daily usage spikes by 25 percent
  • When your bill is ready
  • When your payment was received
  • When your payment was not processed
  • When your credit card is about to expire (AutoPay only)
  • When you have been removed from AutoPay
  • When new text alerts become available
  • When you request to start or stop service, or when a disconnect notice or reconnect request has been issued
  • Sign up for Reliant AccountAlerts today to gain greater control of your electricity usage and budget. Message and data rates may apply. The number and frequency of messages will vary based on the specific alert types selected in your Alerts and Contact Preferences.

Reliant AccountAlerts FAQs

  • Reliant AccountAlerts are alerts you can receive via text message or email. They contain information about your account, your bill, your electricity usage or other details. Some alerts can be sent to you automatically, and you can request other alerts on demand, as you need them. Reliant AccountAlerts options are available on the Alerts and Contact Preferences page. The types of alerts available are slightly different for customers on the Pay as you Go plan, who prepay for their electricity.
  • To receive automatic alerts, go to the Alerts and Contact Preferences page and select the checkboxes next to the alerts you would like to receive. To receive text on demand alerts, text any of the keywords listed in the answers below to 697697. 

    (Note that some Reliant AccountAlerts options are required for customers on the Reliant Pay as you Go plan, who prepay for their electricity.)

  • On the Alerts and Contact Preferences page, you can sign up for a variety of automatic alerts:

    • Receive an alert five days before your Reliant bill is due (Note: If this alert does not reach you, you are still responsible for paying your bill on or before the due date.)
    • Receive an alert if your usage on a specific day is at least 25 percent higher than expected (based on actual weather and your home's previous usage for corresponding weather conditions)
    • Receive an alert when your bill is ready
    • Receive an alert when your payment was received
    • Receive an alert when your payment was not processed
    • Receive an alert when your credit card is about to expire (AutoPay only)
    • Receive an alert when you have been removed from AutoPay
    • Receive alerts when you request to start or stop service, or when a disconnect notice or reconnect notice has been issued
    • Be notified when text alerts are available

    (Note that these options are different for customers on the Reliant Pay as you Go plan, who prepay for their electricity.)

  • Text the following keywords to 697697 to get up-to-date information when you need it. Message and data rates may apply.

    • BILL — to receive the amount and the due date of your current Reliant bill 
    • ESTBILL — to receive an estimate of your next bill based on your usage so far this billing cycle 
    • COST — to receive the amount of electricity charges you've incurred so far this month 
    • USAGE — to receive your usage in kilowatt-hours so far this month 
    • HELP — for resources to answer questions about your account 
    • STOP — to stop receiving all text messages from Reliant; this will have no other effect on your account

Reliant AccountAlerts for Pay as you Go Customers FAQs

  • On the Alerts and Contact Preferences page, you can sign up for a variety of automatic alerts: 
    • Receive a payment confirmation alert when your account has been updated to reflect a recent payment* 
    • Receive a weekly balance alert with your balance and estimated days left* 
    • Receive a low balance alert when your account balance is estimated to drop below $5 in seven days or less, based on average electricity usage* 
    • Receive an alert if your usage on a specific day is at least 25 percent higher than expected (based on actual weather and your home's previous usage for corresponding weather conditions)
    • Receive an alert when your payment was not processed
    • Receive an alert when your credit card is about to expire (AutoPay only)
    • Receive an alert when you have been removed from AutoPay
    • Receive alerts when you request to start or stop service, or when a disconnect notice or reconnect request has been issued
    • Be notified when new text alerts are available.
    *Payment confirmation, weekly balance and low balance alerts (via text message or email) are mandatory communications as part of the Reliant Pay as you Go plan.
