Why do I need to contact my TDSP?

Your TDSP takes care of the poles and wires that transport electricity to your home. In simplistic terms, power is generated at a generation facility (e.g., power plant, wind farm). Reliant then sells that power to you, and the TDSP delivers the power to your home.

How Electricity Works - Outages 2

Although we want to make information about outages as accessible as possible, we cannot fix the outage for you. The utility that maintains the poles and wires (your TDSP) is equipped to take action and get you powered up again as quickly as possible. The most accurate information about outages and when power may be restored will come from your TDSP.
