Giving back to the places we call home
In support of first responders and the most vulnerable in Texas, Reliant donated over $1 million to local community relief funds and initiatives that are helping protect frontline workers and those adversely impacted by COVID-19. The donations are part of our community program, Reliant Gives, providing support across the state of Texas and our parent company, NRG Energy, Inc.’s $2 million donation to pandemic relief efforts.
The donations continue to support the following initiatives:
The Houston Frontline Fund, providing PPE to first responders and essential personnel
The Greater Houston COVID-19 Recovery Fund, helping the region’s most vulnerable neighbors meet their basic needs
The MedStar Mobile Healthcare Foundation, equipping North Texas-area first responders with personal protective equipment
Fort Bend Forward, supporting the production of personal protective equipment for first responders in Fort Bend
The Texas COVID Relief Fund administered by OneStar Foundation, providing critical funding and resources across the state
Baylor Scott & White, supporting remote monitoring of COVID patients
Houston Methodist Hospital, supporting critical care innovations
GRACE, Metrocrest Services, Mission Arlington and Network of Community ministries, providing critical resources to communities in Dallas-Forth Worth
Comp-U-Dopt's computer drive through program, providing computers to students to learn safely at home
Powering Texans is our purpose
At Reliant, we embrace the responsibility that comes with providing a critical service – and we prepare accordingly. Our robust and comprehensive business continuity plan ensures that during extreme circumstances, like those caused by the novel Coronavirus pandemic, we can continue to seamlessly deliver the electricity every Texan needs.
As pandemic-related protocols are in flux across Texas, Reliant team members continue to make health and safety top priorities. To help curtail any further spread of Covid 19, the vast majority of our team is currently splitting work weeks between remote and office locations. Wherever we work, we diligently practice thorough health and safety measures. And we remain connected and equipped with the tools necessary to do our jobs safely and effectively. All so you can stay powered.
