demands of competitive markets, our longstanding commitment to operate safely
and in harmony with the environment remains constant. The commitment to the
environment and a safe work place are consistent with our Company vision and
values of how we should act, work and create value.
Audit Committee The Reliant Energy Board of Directors established the Audit Committee to
oversee many issues that centered around corporate governance standards,
responsible decision making, transparent reporting and ethical behavior.
Company management meets with the Audit Committee to review and discuss
environmental policies and initiatives relative to existing and proposed
environmental legislation and regulations.
Activities and Initiatives Reliant Energy provides electricity and energy services to wholesale and
retail customers across the United States. Our retail business serves
residential and business customers in many regions in the United States. Our
wholesale business includes a sizeable portfolio of power generation and other
strategic assets in target regions. Due to our national presence, we are
subject to numerous federal, state and local environmental regulations that we
must continuously follow and act upon.
