At Reliant, we show our solid commitment to the environment with a range of plans that includes electricity generated partially or completely from pure Texas wind.
Now, we’re taking that commitment to the next level.
For Earth Day this April 22, we’re buying sufficient renewable energy credits (RECs) from Texas wind power to meet the estimated electricity needs of all our residential and small business customers across Texas. The RECs purchased for Reliant customers for Earth Day will come from NRG Energy’s 150-megawatt Langford Wind Power project located near Abilene, Texas.
But, we’re not stopping there …
To encourage our employees and customers to take steps to offset their carbon footprint on Earth Day and beyond, we’re offering an additional incentive. Between April 18 and April 24, 2010, we’ll donate $25 to EarthShare® of Texas for every Texan who signs up for a 100% Texas Wind plan. This allows those who want to do more for the environment to do so – without actually having to do more themselves.
It’s what we call a win-win with Wind. And it’s all part of the Reliant AdvantageSM.
