Energy owns six electric power generation facilities in the states of
California and Nevada, including the Bighorn facility, south of Las Vegas. Base
load, intermediate and peaking capacity represent approximately 5 percent of
the total generation capacity in the West region, which consists of the
southern portions of California and Nevada.
The Coolwater, Etiwanda, Ellwood, Mandalay and Ormond Beach plants in
California were purchased from Southern California Edison Company in 1998.
